A 84 years old male suatained right hip fracture ( inter trochanteric femur fracture) following slip and fall at home.
He came to Dr Pankaj Ortho centre sector 77 Noida, He was unable to bear weight on right hip and was om wheel chair, Xray was taken,which showed displaced inter trochanteric femur fracture, for which he was admitted at Max Super speciality Hospital,Noida and was operated with Proximal femoral nail (PFN).
PFN is minimal invasive surgical technique to fix hip fracture with small incision. Nail comes in different size and diameter ,it is locked with helical blade proximally in the femoral head .
This Surgery allows early weight bearing and there is minimum blood loss and scar is less.
